Arc 1950, Europe’s newest ski resort, built just 12 years ago at 1950m in the French Alps, turned white at the weekend after the first significant snow fall of the season.
With a planned opening date of 12th December 2015, in just four weeks, Christmas festivities will take over the village, with Santa descending by zip wire, laden with children’s gifts, fireworks will light up the sky and the village will sparkle with Christmas lights
Every week throughout the season, including this special Christmas week, Arc 1950 offers a ‘theme’ to its weekly programme of activities, e.g. Russian fashion week in January, Carnival and Kids week in February and Olympic and St Patricks’ week in March. Nathalie Guidon, General Manager at Arc 1950 comments, “We are excited to now have our resort covered in snow. With our village at 1950m, we can guarantee ski in-and-out for our guests who come to us for their skiing holiday. You can ski to your door, you can ski to the shops, in fact the resort is designed so you can ski right through our little village to everything you need!”
In addition to these themed weeks, during each week itself, on top of being able to ski in the second biggest ski area in the world, the Paradiski region, Arc 1950 offers a full village programme, including freestyle nights on Tuesdays, sledging on lit pistes on Wednesday evenings and night skiing on Thursday and Friday evenings.
